Huge congratulations to Christine Janis for her two awards from the US. Christine worked for most of her adult life at Brown University.
The first, awarded in November 2024, is the Romer-Simpson medal, which is the lifetime achievement award of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology. Click HERE for more info.
The second, awarded in Spring 2025, is election into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Click HERE for more info.
These awards are in addition to the George Gaylord Simpson Prize for Paleontology (Yale University) in 1985 and her election into the Fellow of the Paleontological Society in 2007.
Chrstine told us that her love of, and subsequent success in, biology was strongly influenced by St Helen's teacher, Elizabeth Whittick, who she stayed in touch with.
Congratulations Christine, we love sharing good news!
